The DPA is a national accreditation scheme launched in 2014 by Disabled Motoring UK with the aim of improving parking for disabled people and reducing abuse of disabled spaces.
The rigorous assessment and accreditation process (now managed by the British Parking Association), considers not only the physical aspects of the car park such as step free access, accessible payment machines and clear signage but also the management practices of the car park including enforcement of disabled bays and general staff awareness.
Kim Challis, APCOA Regional Managing Director UK&I and Group ESG Director comments, ‘APCOA are proud to work in partnership with Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in delivering car parking facilities which meet the high and exacting standards needed to secure the Disabled Parking Accreditation’.
