Customers will be able to identify suitable local authority parking locations for their journey, check tariffs and availability, pre-book a space and make payment through the NPP.
The NPP manages the secure, automated exchange of data between systems, local authorities and parking companies, with information made available to the customer via third-party apps such as APCOA Connect.
The latest phase of the NPP trial in Manchester is just beginning, with APCOA Connect now available for customers to use at the city’s car parks at King Street West, Piccadilly Gardens, Arndale & Northern Quarter. The ability to pre-book parking with APCOA at 3 of these locations is also part of the current trial.
Kim Challis, APCOA’s regional managing director for UK & Ireland, said:
“We’re really proud to be part of this exciting digital initiative. It really is a trail-blazer for UK parking and will simplify the parking experience for customers and increase the choices available to them.”
